PlayThru Image Upload Cheat sheet
Whether uploading background images, logo or hole transition ads, there are somethings to know about your image size and layout that will help optimize the presentation and load speed.
Upload Image Specifications
Logos
- File Size: Less than 50Kb (if possible) - Maximum 1Mb
- File Format: PNG or JPG.
- Dimensions: 300 x 300 px
- Resolution: 72 dpi (recommended)
Background Images
- File Size: Less than 100Kb (if possible) - Maximum 1Mb
- File Format: PNG or JPG.
- Dimensions: 450 x 900 px
- Resolution: 72 dpi (recommended)
Transition Ad Images
- File Size: Less than 100Kb (if possible) - Maximum 1Mb
- File Format: PNG or JPG.
- Dimensions: 450 x 900 px
- Resolution: 72 dpi (recommended)
General Best Practices
- File Size: Smaller file sizes load faster, so keep uploaded images as small as possible—ideally less than 100Kb and definitely no larger than 500Kb. Consider uploading your images to www.tinypng.com, which will condense the image file size without harming clarity.
- Image Text: Avoid excess text on background images because it can be confused with the scorecard text. In addition, scorecard features may hide portions of the background image text.
- Image Orientation: Background and ad images are displayed so the center of the image is displayed in the center of the screen. Images will also be resized to fit either the width or height of the viewable area. Any part of the image that falls outside of the screen will be hidden from view.
- Background Image Logos: If using a logo as a background image, considering putting the logo on a background that is the correct image size, otherwise the logo will look distorted. For example, add the logo to a Word Doc or PowerPoint Slide and take a screenshot of it with white space around the logo. This will help it show properly in the middle of the screen.
- Logos: Logos with contrasting colors to the blue PlayThru background will show up best. There is a white background that can be applied within the Settings section to help dark logos show up on the dark background.
